Since 1995, the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) Youth Tour has been an incredible opportunity for rural high school students to experience the nation’s capital. PVT is proud to sponsor students for this all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., where you’ll explore history, develop leadership skills, and share your community’s story with key government and telecommunications leaders.

  • Explore Washington, D.C.: Visit iconic landmarks like Arlington National Cemetery, the Lincoln Memorial, Mount Vernon, the Smithsonian Museums, the World War II Memorial, and more.
  • Engage with Leaders: Participate in educational sessions and meet legislative, regulatory, and government figures to learn how policies impact rural communities.
  • Leadership Development: Build confidence, leadership skills, and gain inspiration for the future.
  • Create Lifelong Connections: Meet peers from other rural communities across America and forge friendships that last a lifetime.
  • Fun and Excitement: Attend a show at the Kennedy Center and enjoy the vibrant culture of the nation’s capital.

All Expenses Covered by PVT Sponsorship:

PVT invites high school students to apply for the 2025 FRS Youth Tour, happening June 2–6, 2025. Here’s who qualifies:

  • Active PVT Member: Your household must have PVT landline or internet service in good standing within the cooperative service area.
  • High School Student: Applicants must be 15, 16 or 17 years old at the time of the Youth Tour.
  • Motivated to Represent: Students with a passion for learning, leadership, and representing their community are encouraged to apply.
