Assistance for Internet and Phone Service

As a Universal Service Fund (USF) provider, PVT participates in the federal Lifeline program to offer discounted phone or internet service to eligible low-income households. Lifeline is designed to help ensure that everyone, regardless of financial circumstances, can access reliable communication services. Below, you’ll find detailed information about eligibility, how to apply, and the steps to enroll in the program.

Eligibility Requirements

Lifeline assistance is available to eligible low-income households and is limited to one discount per household. Discounts cannot be transferred from one person to another. To qualify for Lifeline, you or someone in your household must currently receive benefits from one of the following programs:

  • Medicaid (Turquoise Care)
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – formerly Food Stamps
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8)
  • VA Veterans Pension (Supplemental Income for Wartime Veterans)
  • VA Survivors Pension

If you are a resident of federally recognized Tribal Lands, you may qualify for additional benefits through Enhanced Tribal Lifeline and Tribal Link-Up Assistance by participating in the above programs or the following:

  • Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance
  • Tribally Administered Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (Tribal TANF)
  • Head Start (Income-Based)
  • Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR)

You may also qualify based on your income if your annual income is at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
