We’re excited to introduce you to Splice, PVT’s official mascot! Splice is a Desert Bighorn Sheep, a native species of New Mexico, known for their resilience, adaptability, and strength. These qualities reflect PVT’s commitment to overcoming any obstacle to keep our community connected.
Why the Desert Bighorn Sheep?
Just like PVT, Desert Bighorn Sheep are local, and love the rugged New Mexico terrain. Over time, they’ve had to compete with non-native Barbary Sheep, introduced in the mid-1900s. Much like the way PVT stands strong against larger, national carriers who focus on major roads and cities, the Desert Bighorn Sheep represents the spirit of standing firm, adapting, and serving the local community.
Splice symbolizes our dedication to going where others won’t — through valleys, up mountain slopes, and across challenging terrain — to deliver high-speed fiber internet to every member of our cooperative.
Look for Splice at our upcoming community events, including the Annual Meeting of Members on April 26th. If you’re attending the meeting at the Hondo location, you may just catch a glimpse of Splice — a fitting sight, since the Desert Bighorn Sheep, like Splice, calls the Hondo Valley home.
