It wasn’t just the smell of burgers and hotdogs sizzling on the grill that brought folks out to Marshall Decker Road in Hagerman on January 11, 2025, it was the excitement of a community coming together and the promise of high-speed fiber internet on the horizon.
At PVT, we know that building a stronger network means more than laying fiber. It means building relationships. That’s why we didn’t just roll out construction crews; we rolled out the BBQ pit, the corn hole boards, and a roping calf, and we invited the neighborhood to join PVT for a BBQ.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., nearly 30 attendees — families, kids, and neighbors — stopped by to grab a plate of burgers, hotdogs, and cookies and chat with the people working hard to bring fiber to their homes. Some hung out with PVT employees under the cold January sky, while others grabbed their plates to go. But no matter how long they stayed, one thing was clear: everyone was excited that PVT was bringing fiber internet to their corner of New Mexico.
We know seeing PVT trucks and construction crews in your neighborhood can bring up questions. What’s happening? When will the fiber be ready? How do I get connected?
That’s why we show up — not just with answers, but with the people who are doing the work. Attendees had the chance to speak directly with the PVT construction team—the same team laying the fiber lines—getting real-time updates on the project.
The Highway 13 BBQ is just one of many events we’ll be hosting as we expand fiber throughout our service area. If you missed this one, don’t worry. We’ll continue to show up, answer your questions, and celebrate each milestone. So the next time you see our trucks—or smell a BBQ in the air—come say hi. Let’s connect.
